Well done to all our soloists who performed at yesterday’s Rising Stars concert at Scarr Bandstand! A special mention to our soloists Herbie, Sadie, Millie, Zach and Dougie who were excellent. Other bands were Ross Training, Cinderford Academy & Lydbrook Training bands. At the massed bands finale, we ended up with almost 70 players on stage! It turns out that until today, Lydney Town Band had seemingly never performed at Pittville Park, which is the grandest shame because it is such a fabulous venue! We had great fun kicking off their ‘Bands in the Park’ programme of concerts this afternoon and the half-time ice creams were well deserved (and delicious!) Lydney Town Band helped add to the Platinum Jubilee festivities with an ensemble group accompanying the commemorative stone unveiling at St Briavels. Later our Principal Cornet, Kerry, played for the Lydney Beacon lighting ceremony. Later on in the weekend the whole Town Band then performed at the "Proms In The Park" at Lydney's Bathurst park. A busy weekend for the band! |
