The Training Band meets Mondays  6.30 - 7.30pm in the Band room, in Swan Lane, Lydney. 

Note - Training is available for everyone irrespective of age!

Launched in July 2005, the Lydney Training Band has played at many local events such as old people’s homes, church fetes, school fayres, hospital fete, charity events and town celebrations, and will have appeared in public over 25 occasions during 2017. It currently has over 40 young members including some adults who have decided to learn. Together with the senior band members they perform at public engagements and now perform to a good standard with a very entertaining repertoire.  Due to the success in attracting youngsters to the Band, we have created a Starter Band for those who have not been learning long.  They have their own Band engagements, 4 booked for 2018, and we are very proud of them.

The Lydney Band organisation provides expert tutoring and mentoring through Associated Board Music Examinations and we have a 100% pass rate with over 60% achieving the top grade of ’distinction’.

The Band is funded by donations and appropriate grant applications which help us purchase and maintain instruments and also purchase music. We are always looking for new members to learn to play, old and young alike, so if you know someone who is interested, please contact Kerry on 01594 530886 or just pop along to the Bandroom on Swan Lane on Mondays 6.30-7.30pm.
