Lydney Town Band
Lydney Town Band was established as a brass band in 1892. It is proud to be part of the rich history of brass banding within the Forest of Dean. The band maintains a busy and varied concert schedule over the course of the year in Lydney and the surrounding areas. In competition, the band has won many accolades over the course of its long history and achieved promotion to the Second Section from January 2026. It regularly competes at the annual West of England Regional Championships, the Gloucestershire Brass Band Association contests and the Wychavon Festival of Brass.
The band comprises a diverse and vibrant group of people, with a strong emphasis on enjoyment in rehearsals and engagements, combined with a goal to perform to a high musical standard and to continue to develop and improve. To this end, the band performs a wide range of repertoire, from classical transcriptions to modern pop arrangements, from brass band classics to brand new commissions.
There is something for everyone to enjoy!
