We had a great time at The Rising Sun Inn yesterday evening! Congratulations to our fabulous soloists: Kerry, Rory, Neil, Louise and Adrian, and many thanks to Mark, Chris and Duncan for helping out!
Yesterday was also a day of debuts! Big shout out to Jess, who has come up from the Training Band and performed in her very first Town Band concert on Second Horn. We couldn’t be prouder of your efforts! Shout out also to Matt who swapped over to Eb Bass from Bass Trombone with literally a couple hours notice, Tim who stepped up to First Horn and Idris, whose piece ‘The Legend of Zelda’ had its first public performance and sounded spectacular!

This Sunday, Lydney Town Band are returning to the The Rising Sun Inn at Moseley Green for an evening of brass band entertainment. We’ve got a fabulous set-list planned including phenomenal solos from across the band! We’ll be performing from 6pm and it would be great to see you there! 

​Yesterday evening, a number of our players attended a workshop hosted by Dr Roger Webster on performance anxiety. By all accounts, it was a very enjoyable and inspiring evening - many thanks to Wotton Silver Band for organising the event! 

Although it was a very wet afternoon yesterday, it wasn't at all miserable at Taurus Crafts where the Training Band put on a great performance. We even had a member of the audience step up and conduct the band for a couple of songs!

Another successful post-rehearsal glow worm hunt last night - a record equalling six in total!!!

We've got a couple of updates to our summer schedule!
Next weekend, Lydney Training Band had been due to perform at Yorkley Flower Show. Unfortunately due to the recent inclement weather, the organisers have taken the tough decision to cancel the event. In its place though, the Training Band are really excited to have been invited to perform at Taurus Crafts on the same day!

The weekend after that, on Sunday 28th July, you can join Lydney Town Band as we return to perform at The Rising Sun Inn as part of their Brass Band Sessions programme. There's still lots to look forward to from us this summer (fingers crossed the weather improves!)
